I had another strange animal dream last night this time about my families cat Betty. She recently had surgery to be "fixed" and can't have kittens but in my dream there where 4 little kittens running around that definitely were hers. She's a black and white tuxedo and they were different variations of black and white, one that was mostly white with black spots had the biggest personality, was very playful. Everything was going well until I went to make breakfast and cracked open an egg and I was shocked when a small kitten, clearly too small to be born yet came out of the shell and died. I was horrified and upset and crying and my family asked me "why did you break open the shell?" But no one told me the kittens were in eggs. It was so confusing. (Full disclosure I've been on new medication to help me treat a bacteria in my stomach, two types of antibiotics and an pump inhibitor to stop acid production, so perhaps my dreams are heightened right now because my body is fighting an infection. Also until this last year most my life I've been very allergic to cats and unable to pet and hang out with cats, until we got Miss Betty this last year and I don't seem to be allergic to cats now, so I'm super attached to her.)
Dreams involving animals often symbolize aspects of our emotions, instincts, or subconscious mind. In this dream, the presence of the cat Betty, who recently had surgery to be "fixed" but had kittens in the dream, may represent the conflict between Betty's natural instincts and her inability to fulfill them due to the surgery. The kittens may symbolize the suppressed desires or potential within you that you may feel conflicted about expressing or exploring.
The fact that the kittens were different variations of black and white, like Betty, suggests that these desires or potential may have a connection to your own identity and personality. The kitten with the biggest personality and playful nature could represent the strong and vibrant aspects of your own desires.
However, the moment of shock and sadness when a kitten comes out of an egg too small and dies indicates a sense of disappointment or loss in relation to these desires or potentials. This could reflect your fear or concern about the potential negative consequences of exploring or pursuing your desires.
The confusion within the dream, where no one informed you that the kittens were in eggs, could symbolize a lack of clear understanding or awareness of these desires or potentials in your waking life.
Given your recent medication and changes in your allergies towards cats, it's possible that these factors are influencing the content and intensity of your dreams. It may also be worth exploring these dreams further with a professional dream interpreter or therapist to gain a deeper understanding of your emotions and desires.
